I love 1-2-1 mentoring, but I also miss working with a group. Now that I’ve settled into my “other” job, I feel it’s time to start a new photography course.
For a number of years I’ve been running online courses for photographers from all over the world, focusing mainly on composition, technique, Photoshop, and Photography Criticism. Now I want to take things up a notch with my new course.
Is a unique 3 month course that will change how you consume, discuss, understand and ultimately create photography. It will take on the, familiar to some, format of 5 assignments and 6 online webinars where all students come together in a virtual classroom where we’ll spend the evening discussing your work, and that of your fellow students. It’s a format that’s proven to work exceptionally well, as the scope of learning is increased with new perspectives and opinions as they are introduced to the discussions, over and above that of my own.
As with all my courses, content is “open-ended”. And this is especially true of Photographies. Set out below is an idea of what we will be tackling during the 3 months, but be open to surprises beyond what’s listed.
- Looking at Photographs
- Interpreting and Evaluating Photographs
- The Single Image
- The Series
- Photography as Communication
- Shooting with Film
- Learning to “See” Photographically
- Image Design
- and I expect a whole lot more !
The entire course is online so you can participate from anywhere in the world. I’ll provide free web-conferencing software so all you’ll need is the following :
- A digital camera
- A phone that takes pictures
- A 35mm film camera/or access to someone that can lend you one
- A computer
- A set of headphones
- An hour or so free every other Sunday to attend the online webinar
- A desire to deepen your relationship with photography
Photographies will start 28 May, 2017 with our first webinar, at 19.30 UK Time. We will then meet every fortnight up until the last webinar 6th August, 2017 at 19.30 UK Time.
Photographies is priced at £150 per person, and limited to 6 places. To reserve yours simply click below. Or drop me an email/comment below if you have questions.
